"Climbathon" FundraiserThe Climbathon is a method you can use to raise money to be able to come to Redcloud's Rock Camp. You can ask your friends, relatives, Church members, and businesses to sponsor you and help send you to camp this summer. Here's how to do it:
Here's a scenario. Suppose you are able to get 9 sponsors: Total Camp Tuition: $375 1 Sponsor for 300 feet -- $99 3 Sponsors for 100 feet -- 3 x $33 = $99.00 5 Sponsor for 50 feet -- 5 x $16.50 = $82.50 Total Sponsorship Amount: $280.50 You will owe a total of only: $94.50 You can recruit sponsors to pay up to the full tuition amount for the camp. If there is still sponsorship money that comes in, up to $50 will be credited to your store account for spending money. Any additional money that comes in will be deposited to Redcloud's scholarship fund to help other campers be able to come to camp. Frequently Asked Questions:Q: Should I wait to register until I have all my sponsors? A: Not usually...you should register soon to hold your spot in the camp. Q: What if I've already paid a deposit, and then I get full sponsorship. Can I get my deposit back? A: If you have full sponsorship and the funds are all here more than 7 days from the camp's starting day, you can receive a refund of your deposit payment. Otherwise, the extra funds will roll over as described above. Q: When should I ask my sponsors to send in their sponsorship money? A: Right away is the best option, but we greatly prefer to have the funds here at least 7 days before the Rock Camp's starting date. If you do receive last minute sponsors, please bring their payment with you to camp instead of mailing it so that it doesn't get delayed in the mail. Q: Are the sponsorship payments considered tax-deductible donations? A: Unfortunately, no. Since the sponsorship payment directly benefits a single individual (the climber), it is not tax-deductible. Donors can receive a tax-deductible receipt for donations that are given to one of our funds, but cannot specify who the donations will benefit.
