Testimonials

Because of our unique program, our common goals of education, and our commitment to developing the potential of children, we have developed many friendships with teachers from Colorado and beyond. The following are just a few examples of the positive thoughts and comments we have received from those teachers over the years.

"I loved meeting the staff and I loved the activities. I thought the staff was well prepared and allowed the children to have lots of fun while learning."

"I love being at camp for many reasons - its location and facilities are refreshing. I love to spend the time doing the activities with the students so that I get to relate to them in a different setting and in different situations."

"Your staff does an excellent job of focusing on kids. They are very in tune with kids needs - challenge level was appropriate and individualized."

"The challenging of the students is great! Your staff’s rapport with the kids is excellent also. I like the positive, can-do spirit you impart."

"I liked seeing all of our students grow, share, cooperate, cheer each other on and be able to trust themselves and others. Because of camp, our students were all changed to some extent."

"The people that work with and design the programs are excellent! Good job! I like being able to sit back and watch my students interact with others in a variety of situations."

"The rappelling lesson was wonderful. It was an accomplishment of a dream!"

"Thank you so much for providing our students with such an outstanding camp experience. You never cease to amaze me with your energy and willingness to go the extra mile with every student. You make Camp Redcloud a very special place for students as well as their teachers. You get an A+ in our book. You’re a very special group of individuals."

"The full activity schedule, packed with new experiences made complete use of the short time we were here."

"I want to thank you and your staff for another great experience. All of our students had a great time. I’d like to make a comment on our students and the notion of trust which is a major theme in any challenge camp. Seventy-five percent of our population comes from poverty and most of these children have no significant person whom they can really trust. We often assume that a child has a parent or grandparent they can trust, ours do not. Caleb is a case in point. After hearing the counselor talk about trust on the rappel rock, I asked Caleb if there was anyone he trusted. His comment was, 'not people, that’s for sure.' I’m sure he’s not alone in that thinking. Another student came to me after the meatloaf dinner and stated excitedly, 'that was the best dinner I ever had!' Later, when talking to him about home, I asked what he usually has for dinner. He said, 'Ramen noodles.' I asked who cooks for him. He said, 'My mom and dad don’t cook,' I know from past experiences that dry Ramen noodles is a common meal. Anyway, I don’t know what staff development you already provide, but as I’ve explored and learned about the culture of poverty, I’ve changed the way I perceive and interact with our families. Thanks again for a wonderful experience and I hope to be back again."
