Educational Lessons

During your Outdoor Education session, each activity is coupled with an educational lesson. The knowledge is easily retained because of the hand-on atmosphere. For example, students will study Hydrology during their canoeing activity, and they'll study Zoology during the snowshoeing activity. Below is a listing of the lessons that we offer.

Recently, we've upgraded our Astronomy lesson significantly. We now have a large telescope that we've added to the lesson. Using digital imaging, students can see on a screen the astronomical objects that the telescope is tracking. Click here to see our astrophoto gallery.

Curriculum Standards

The basic curriculum that Redcloud now offers has developed over the years based on the expectations and needs of the teachers. Our curriculum meets many of Colorado’s Model Content Standards. We desire to have education offered at the state level in the areas of language arts, math, science, economics, geography, history and physical education.
