Resident Program Staff
RESPONSIBLE TO: Resident Program Director
WAGES: Stipend + room and board while campers are here, or raise personal support
JOB SUMMARY: Resident Program Staff are hired for the purpose of working with
guests at Camp Redcloud and providing opportunities for them to grow spiritually,
mentally, physically, emotionally and relationally through the challenge activities and
programs provided at Camp Redcloud.
QUALIFICATIONS: Resident Program Staff must:
- Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and possess a desire/commitment to serve Him and
other people.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Preferably hold a multimedia Red Cross first aid certificate or equivalent and a
cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate. (May be obtained during staff training).
- Be able to teach and communicate effectively.
- Have an ability/desire to learn new skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To proclaim the truth and love of Jesus Christ through a lifestyle that imitates His.
- To explain from memory in personal, understandable language what it means to be a
Christian.
- To lead morning quiet times and evening cabin discussions.
- To be prepared to illustrate Biblical truths using aspects of the challenge activities.
- To spend time with campers in order to help them see how God and the Bible meet their
personal needs.
- To disciple a high school student involved in Camp's TNT Program if assigned, as well as
demonstrate how to utilize opportunities to share their faith with campers.
- To be competent at the skills necessary to provide a secure environment for the guests
during their trip.
- To lead or assist in outdoor challenge activities.
- To lead or assist in evening activities, skits or games.
- To lead an overnight campout with a small group of campers. To lead an evening devotion
on the overnighter and schedule time for individual morning quiet times.
- To participate in clean-up duties and other preparatory work prior to the group's
arrival and in clean-up duties after their departure.
- To assist in meal serving and clean-up.
- To be a contributing member of the Camp Redcloud staff by lending support and
encouragement.
- To attend all staff meetings and Bible Studies.
- To complete other duties as assigned.
CAMP REDCLOUD'S RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offer weekly staff Bible Studies.
- Provide opportunity to attend church in Lake City on Sunday morning or a worship service
at Camp.
- Give opportunity to talk with leadership staff about any personal questions.
- Train all program staff in the philosophy and policies of Camp.
- Maintain an atmosphere which allows for easy communication and freedom to clear up
misunderstandings.
