Jennifer Parks: Youth Challenge Administrator

Parks

Jennifer grew up in Austin, Texas, which she loves except for the summer heat and year-round lack of mountains. In Austin she worked variously as a freelance musician, a high school literature and writing teacher, and at a translation company. Jennifer first visited Redcloud when she made a summer road-trip up to visit a friend who was a counselor there; she was so impressed that she returned as a counselor the following summer. In 2004, Jennifer graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in English language and literature, which she immediately put to good use by moving to Redcloud to work as a backpacking guide.

In August 2006, drawn by the opportunity for service and discipleship, Jennifer accepted a full-time position on the missionary staff as part of the Youth Challenge leadership team. As well as discipling staff and running the administrative side of the Youth Challenge programs, she works with the rest of her team in hosting summer camps and public and private school groups. She is also privileged to conduct Bible studies for the Youth Challenge girls’ seasonal staff.

Jennifer’s ministry goals are to serve her team by running the administrative side of the youth programs with excellence, and to love and disciple staff by filtering life experience through the word of God.
