Steve was born and raised near Grand Junction, Colorado and is one of only a few Colorado natives on our staff. Starting in 1986 he came to Redcloud every summer with his family when they sponsored the Creation Family camps. He first joined Redcloud’s staff in the spring of 1996 and worked with our outdoor education and resident programs for the next couple years. While serving at another camp during the summer of 1996, Steve first sensed God’s calling into full-time camping ministry.

In 1998-99, Steve took a “year off” of camp work to attend Jackson Hole Bible College in Wyoming. After graduating with a Diploma in Biblical Foundations he returned to serve full-time at Redcloud.

Steve is skilled in many outdoor pursuits, including rock-climbing, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and backpacking. He also enjoys gourmet cooking, music and photography. He serves as a volunteer with Hinsdale County’s EMS and Search-and-Rescue teams.

Steve is responsible for production of many of Camp’s marketing materials, including brochures, mailers and promotional videos. He also oversees our rock-climbing and rappelling programs. During the summer he leads two weeks of rock-climbing camps.

We are funded by a combination of camper fees, scholarships, and gifts from individuals and churches. All of our full-time staff raise personal support in order to serve here at Redcloud.
