I was born in Great Falls, Montana but grew up moving around the country as my father served in the Air Force. Before moving to Colorado in June of 2007 the last 33 years I resided in San Antonio, Texas. It was there that I met, and in 1986, was married to my wife Ingrid. We have been blessed with five wonderful children - William 21, Trevor 19, Taylor 16, Lauren 10 and Autumn, our little Colorado baby who is 7 months old. I have spent the last 27 years working in the automotive field. After taking 4 years of automotive classes in high school I attended St. Phillips College technical school. After 1 year of tech school I decided the best place to learn the automotive trade was in the workplace. The next 4 years I worked for an Oldsmobile dealership. I was hired as a porter, however I was eventually able to work my way up to the service department and for 3 years worked as a technician. After 4 years at Oldsmobile I went to work for an independent automotive repair garage in San Antonio. I spent the next 22 years working there as a technician, service manager and eventually service director. During my years at Alamo Garage I was able to obtain ASE Master Automotive Technician and ASE L1 advanced certifications. The Lord has always given me the desire to use the skills and talents He has given me in this area to minister to others
On the recommendation of a friend, in May of 2004 we found ourselves volunteering at Camp Redcloud. Our family spent a week here while I worked on the vehicles to get them ready for the upcoming summer season. There was much to be done and the work was hard but when it was all over I felt that I had used the talents God had given me to fully and completely serve Him. It gave a joy and satisfaction that was hard to explain. Ingrid said as we left Redcloud she believed that this was where the Lord wanted us; I said I didn’t think so. We returned again as volunteers in May of 2005 and prepared the vehicles for the summer season much like the year before. As we headed home this time I could not deny that the Lord was indeed working, although I was not sure how. Over the next several months through many “circumstances” the Lord revealed to us, mostly me, that His plan for our lives did include Redcloud.
After much prayer and seeking the Lord's guidance we finally committed to coming to Redcloud and began the long process of support raising and moving. The Lord has been so faithful to us as our lives have undergone many changes. On June 6th 2007 our family finally arrived in Lake City. We are so thankful for the opportunity He has given us here. All the years of experience I have are now being utilized for our Lord here at Redcloud. We count it as a huge blessing to be serving here.
